The Sentral Group has acquired Junction City Wire Harness in a move to further enhance its manufacturing capabilities and locations. Junction City is a leading supplier of wire harnesses to the specialty vehicle market, including trucks, buses and recreational vehicles.

Sentral president Bill Schlitz said the company has no plans to move the Junction City operation to its Lincolnshire headquarters. "We absolutely intend to keep that facility open and right where it is. The whole point of this process is to expand geographically while adding new customer markets. It is our intention to support that facility in every way and grow it as much as we can."

The acquisition gives Sentral a second manufacturing location and an additional 85,000 square feet of manufacturing and office space. "We have been actively looking to add another facility to help serve the needs of our global customers," Schlitz said.

"We have also been evaluating the specialty vehicle market for some time. Junction City is the perfect combination of both.

They have great abilities, product knowledge, and most importantly, people. They also have outstanding relationships with many of the premier companies in that industry. I could not have imagined a better fit."

Tim Skarda, President of Allied Business Group, a Kansas City-based mergers and acquisitions firm, acted as the exclusive financial advisor to Junction City Wire Harness in the sale.

Junction City Wire Harness has been manufacturing electrical wire harnesses, cables, ground straps and electrical panel assemblies for OEM, transit, recreational, off-road and specialty vehicles as well as other types of original equipment manufacturers for more than 25 years.

It maintains a full engineering staff with more than 50 years of combined experience. It can build harnesses to a customer's specifications or provided design services.

The Sentral Group now boasts more than 125,000 square feet of manufacturing space in the United States, and more than 200 full-time employees.

Sentral Assemblies is a manufacturer of custom wire harnesses, cable assemblies, tubing assemblies and electro-mechanical assemblies. Since its founding in 1990, the company has grown to be one of the largest privately owned cable assembly companies in the U.S.
