More often than not, companies looking to acquire another business are doing so for the first time. Making a successful acquisition involves a carefully planned, step-by-step process with the assistance of a trusted advisor. Our firm’s systematic process can be broken down into four categories:

1. Targeted Acquisition Search

  Define the key criteria that an acquisition target must possess
  Search for target companies that fit the key criteria
  Solicit the potential intererst of best-fit companies
  Introduction of buyer to prospective seller

2. Acquisition Candidate Analysis

  Financial analysis and valuation of target companies
  Preliminary negotiations to determine sellers' level of interest
  Assess all potential targets to determine which is best

3. Negotiation and Structuring of Transaction

  Coordinate/introduce other advisors who will work on the 'deal team'
  Preparation of a terms sheet/letter of intent with legal advisor
  Due diligence / legal and financial inspection of the target
  Obtain third-party debt and/or equity financing
  Assistance with final closing documents

4. Post-Acquisition Support

  Develop '100 day plan' for post-acquisition integration
  Identify areas for improvement within target company and its integration
  Determine eventual exit plan for new entity
