Prior to joining Allied, Derek was an analyst at a large, Kansas City based, information technology company, where he performed advanced data analysis to improve operating efficiency and financial performance in the engineering and support departments. Derek also worked as an analyst at a regional investment firm, specializing in asset management, institutional investment consulting, and public finance. Derek graduated with top honors and a bachelor's degree in economics from Nebraska Wesleyan University. While attending the university he received national recognition for his academic acheivements via the Wall Street Journal Achievement Award. During his senior year, Derek actively managed the Student Investment Group's portion of the university's endowment portfolio by analyzing prospective companies and conducting industry research. Derek is a 2012 Level II CFA Candidate.
